Filters
Filter / Water Separator
Used in both civil and military aviation to filter contaminants and to remove water from aviation fuel.
Filtration Rating
1–5 mm. Contains coalescer filter elements and water separator elements; the coalescer elements are capable of filtering both from inside to outside and from outside to inside.
Clay Filter
Capable of removing surface-active chemical substances, dyes, and additives from fuel.
Microfilter
Used as a pre-filter or safety filter and typically installed upstream of the filter/water separator. Filtration rating: 0.5–690 mm.
